First of all I want to thank and congratulate the American Lung Association of South Florida for this great opportunity and marvelous event. It was a sold out event therefore there were hundreds of people eager to get their hands on all the great bites.
We arrived early in order to visit the VIP lounges and explore around before the event opened to the public. This being my second time attending a Wine and Food Festival I decided to wear all black just in case some wine spilled and sneakers to be able to walk all night.
Now let's get started with what you all came here for. How genius is this wine glass holder?! This was given to every attendee, makes life so much easier, with this you can actually have your hands free to pick up the bites as you walk through the pavilions.
My first stop was at the VIP lounge, they had an open bar with drinks besides wine. I ordered vodka tonic but instead the lovely bartender presented me with this wonderful combination, a refreshing drink with New Amsterdam Vodka and VOSS Cucumber Lime sparkling water and the result was perfection.
Now onto the food! I want to congratulate each and every one of the restaurants that were part of this festival, they all had beautiful table setup, consistency on the plates and most importantly excellent food. We seriously didn't have the opportunity of photograph all the delicious bites, but here are some of the ones we got a chance to take pictures of.
These risotto balls were filled with mushrooms and Parmesan, they were cooked perfectly, the restaurant was frying these on the spot meaning that they were hot and ready to eat.
Hard Rock Hotel - A mini pavilion where they were showcasing their restaurant Kuro, beautifully decorated with green walls and orchids. One of their bites was a fried chicken bun, you can never go wrong with fried chicken, the chicken was crispy with fluffy buns for an interesting mix of textures, and hot sauce to spice it up.
Louie Bossi's Octopus Salad - I've never been to this restaurant before so I had to stop and try their food. The presentation was flawless, for an event like this its hard to maintain consistency but they did. The combination of textures and flavors were exquisite, it was like a party in my mouth, can't wait to come back.
Celebrity Cruises was one of the sponsors of the Las Olas Wine and Food Festival, they had an amazing setup with a lounge area, dessert tower and sign ups for a Mediterranean Cruise giveaway, which if course I participated, who doesn't want to win a cruise?! They had this amazing tower of Raspberry White Chocolate Mousse with chocolate firecrackers, it was like a party in my mouth! Beautiful presentation and amazing dessert, if this is what is like to eat at a Celebrity Cruise I can't wait to have a full blown culinary experience on board.
Overall the event in my opinion was a success, the organization, the service, the food, and the wine were excellent. Congratulations on a great event, until next year!
