This month has been one for the books, July has been unreal! I have so much to share that I can't begin to gather my thoughts.
As most of you know, I'm from the Dominican Republic, we breathe and live sports, especially baseball. Baseball is part of our culture, our lives, our day to day basically. Every parent in the D.R. wants to have an All Star baseball player for a son, it's the norm. Most of them start very young at age 5 and up, I can speak for my brother when I say it was part of our lives for years. Let me tell you, one thing is dreaming about it and another thing is living the dream. Even though my brother didn't get the chance of becoming an major league player he sure was my star. I remember I used to go with him to most of his games, batting practices and just being there for him.
Most if not all of the MLB teams have a Dominican player, I mean not to brag but our country sure has the best players of all times. We are a proud country that supports our players (even when they are not a fan favorite), it's like seeing your flag all high and mighty. So to have the opportunity of actually attending an MLB All Star Party and game was UNREAL.
I received an email and the subject line read EXCLUSIVE INVITE MLB ALL STAR, and my heart literally skipped a beat. I was like you have to be kidding me this has to be a joke. So I started reading the email and couldn't believe that I would get the chance of covering this event and attend the game (PINCH ME NOW). To top it all off there is an app called Infield Chatter, it's like a mix of Twitter and Instagram but dedicated 100% to Baseball. In this app you can actually interact with players, read news, and get the inside scoop (literally) of what is going on infield real time. If you are a baseball fan I recommend you download the app, you won't regret it.
So the day comes July 10th, and besides going all out Miami Style they had Lenny Kravitz as part of the entertainment (no biggie). The event was held at Mana Wynwood after the first All Star game and it wouldn't be Miami if it wasn't pouring rain. This didn't stop the celebrities to showing up to this magnificent event. Even though I'm really bad with names I was star struck more times that I could count, it's like when you spend 15+ years watching these players on TV and then you are casually at a party with them. As the title said, it was one for the books.
I will leave you some pictures of the event and the game as well as the download link for the Infield Chatter App below.
